THE DOODLE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED - JUDGING IN PROGRESS
To take part in the competition, you will be required to submit a doodle created using www.doodlingonline.com. There is no upper limit on the number of doodles you can submit and each doodle will be taken as a separate entry.
When you have finished your doodle you be asked to register your details to submit your entry. This process must be completed in order for entries to be valid. You will also have the opportunity to email your doodle to a friend.
Entries will be accepted from 9.00am GMT, [7 March], 2008 until Midnight, 30 June 2008. Any entries received after this time will be deemed ineligible.
The Winner will be chosen by the author of The Doodle Notebook, Claire Faÿ and a panel of judges employed by Thames & Hudson Ltd., from all qualifying entries within 28 days of the closing date of the competition.
The Winner will be contacted via e-mail within 14 days of the winner being selected. The winner will have 28 days to claim their prize.
The prize consists of £1,000 worth of books published by Thames & Hudson. Books must be currently in print and the value will be determined by the recommended retail price listed on www.thamesandhudson.com and in our current stocklist. Thames & Hudson books can be identified by the 13-digit ISBN beginning with “978 0500”. Titles distributed by Thames & Hudson on behalf of other publishers are ineligible for this prize.
A carrier selected by Thames & Hudson will deliver the prize to a mainland United Kingdom address during business hours. It is the Winner’s responsibility to ensure that someone is available to sign on delivery. The method of delivery will be at Thames & Hudson’s discretion.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. These terms and conditions together with the terms set out above constitute the rules ("the Competition Rules") for the competition ("the Competition") on the www.doodlingonline.com website ("the website"). By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by the Competition Rules.
2. The Competition is organized by Thames & Hudson Ltd of 181A High Holborn, London, WC1V 7QX, UK ("T&H").
3. To qualify to enter the Competition you must be resident in the UK and over 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, your parents must consent to your entry into the Competition.
4. You are permitted to submit multiple entries to the Competition, but all entries must be made in the manner specified on the website and in accordance with the Competition Rules. Failure to do so will disqualify your entry.
5. There is no purchase requirement to enter the Competition.
6. All entries to the Competition must be your original work. They must not infringe copyright or any other intellectual property right or privacy right of any third party, nor shall they be defamatory, obscene, indecent, blasphemous, harassing or threatening or otherwise objectionable. T&H reserve the right at its sole discretion to reject and remove from the website any entry which they believe infringes the Competition Rules.
7. The winner of the Competition ("the Winner") will be chosen by a panel of judges employed by T&H, from all qualifying entries within 28 days of the closing date specified in the Competition Notice. The decision of the judges and T&H shall be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
8. The Winner will be notified by e-mail within the time specified. In the event the e-mail is undeliverable or no reply is received by T&H within the time stated, T&H reserve the right to disqualify the entrant and to select an alternative winner. The Winner’s name shall be published on the website or you can write to Competition Prize Winners, Thames & Hudson, 181A High Holborn, London, WC1V 7QX naming the specific competition including a self-addressed stamped envelope and the name of the Winner will be sent to you.
9. Prizes are non–transferable and there is no cash alternative. T&H reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
10. Prizes are awarded at T&H‘s sole discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant.
11. By entering the Competition, you warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. T&H reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrants and to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Competition Rules.
12. Employees of T&H or any company involved in the Competition or members of their families or households, are not eligible to enter the Competition.
13. T&H does not claim any proprietory or intellectual property right in your entry which at all time remains your copyright. However, subject to clause 14, T&H reserves the right although does not guarantee to reproduce your entry on the website and in any other media, whether in print or electronic and whether now known or invented in the future, which may include other internet sites, mobile telephones and/or television. Accordingly, you hereby grant T&H (and third parties authorised by it) a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence (for the full period of any rights in your entry) to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, make derivative works or podcasts from, edit, alter, store, re-format, sell and sub-licence your entry for such purposes.
14. T&H cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by you by entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize. T&H is also not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Competition.
15. The Winner may be requested to take part in promotional activity and T&H reserves the right to use the winner's name and if the Winner consents, photograph and audio and/or visual recordings of them in any publicity.
16. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual‘s prior consent. Data relating to entrants will be retained by T&H according to its Privacy Policy.
17. The Competition and Competition Rules are governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
18. T&H reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition or the Competition Rules at any time. Any changes will be posted on this Website.
